This photo is of my family and Dalton (now headed for Syria!!) playing Trivial Pursuit last month. I am on the right with my team and we were the champs!
David Lee Roth (paramedic!!) kind of looks like Billy Bob Thornton. I need to keep a list of stuff to research. I should get a binder going in which I can keep track of these little morsels of information. I still have my mini post-it notes about RNA and DNA in a file that I consult regularly.
Some of you may know I like to track what is going on in Venezuela, because it is just so damn bizarre to me. So this news item is very intriguing to me. I especially love the comments Chavez made about the vehicles in NYC. I also love the suggestion of moving the UN headquarters to a to a place outside the sovereignty of any state. As Jerusalem is in the Northern hemisphere and it may be more appropriate to locate the HQ in the South, I suggest the unclaimed slice of the Antarctic as the most fitting place for some reformatted United Nations.

"Develop an interest in life as you see it; the people, things, literature, music-the world is so rich, simply throbbing with rich treasures, beautiful souls and interesting people. Forget yourself."
Henry Miller

I am going to be a part of a browfolio. This means a free brow wax! Wahoo! I am waiting to hear back from my job prospects. That analst test was hilarious - I stayed up working all night as though I was cramming for an exam or something! I have not been jogging like I have been wanting to but it is because I have not nourished my body well this past week. This pic here is of Shane (my sis' boyfriend) and I at the Grad Lounge at UNB. I asked for some lime with my cider and this is what I got! Those maritimers sure are silly! I feel like I have nothing much interesting to say. I am excited because some really cool girlfriends are coming to visit me soon. Tomorrow I will buy crazy waterchestnuts to make mobiles with.

Broken Boys They Look Good Sitting on the Shelves...

I tried to listen to the new Sigur Ros today but it just did not work out. I am studying road safety policy for a test I will take tomorrow - a written email test for a job I applied to over two months ago! They are using this test - whatever the hell it is - to figure out who to interview.
My toilet is broken. My law school library catalogue is down so I don't know if I should head up there for books in the morning or not. I am nervous. This job pays 50-58,000/year and I would be so goddamn thrilled to make a professional wage for once. I am so sick of living under the poverty line. My fucking cat has a gross tumour in his mouth. Good thing I have no babies. They would be so negelected or else I would overlook myself.

I am sad and scared on many levels but also optimistic. I think if I can weather this next chunk of life I will experience great happiness - perhaps more than I have ever known. I am trying to figure out what motivates me and what scares me. Why I am so great in some departments and utterly pathetic in others. I did not write this before but I was offered a fully funded internship in northern Ghana last month that would have started this week. I would be working at a Sustainability Centre that promotes participation of women in governance and development issues in the region. The position was sponsored by the Canadian International Development Agency and would have absolutely rocked but I turned it down. Why? For a few reasons, all of which are legitimate. I am just spooked I will start to regret my decision now. Regret, guilt and envy/jealously are some of the most major negative emotions that I experience in my sack of cells. I fucking hate bad emotions. Yeuch, why must I be an atheist?

No Skunk-Dumping Today

so this is part of the citadel in downtown Halifax.
how weird, i say.

this cat is great. she was named Sugar, i think,
and just could not get enough of this catnip
bush thing. total stoner cat.
i thought this house
was super cool - all mc eschered-up in the
kensington market area of Toronto. Click
on it to zoom in better on the details of
the building. the string-geometry thing
in the upper window is/was quite odd.

this is detail of a tapestry from a few
centuries ago which is displayed at the
Beaverbrook Gallery in Fredericton.
apparently, the depiction of turds was
essential even back then.
