Turds on the Grass: Abner turns 12!

Today is a special day, as it marks Abbey's completion of twelve Earth orbits around the Sun! She oozed out of her mama's doggie vagina in Woodstock twelve years ago today which makes her about 84 in doggie years. Two years ago, her auntie Erin gave her two liver paw-shaped cakes!

Yesterday Russell and I dined at Sabri's for lunch which was sooooooo yummy (great indian buffet in Victoria) and we met a theoretical astronomer there who was visiting from U of T which thrilled me, beacsue I like space and cosmology and stuff…

Speaking of astronomy, I am contemplating the potential opportunity of seeing the "southern cross" in the night sky this year. I may be able to celebrate my birthday in the spring for the first time ever, as I may have a chance to live in South Africa for six months, given that militant buddhists have dragged Sri Lanka back into a civil war….

Farts in a Jar!

I quit my job yesterday, and today I find out that my internship to Sri Lanka is CANCELLED due to security concerns!

I have less than a month until I leave my fair island and head over to Ontario with my kitty Muchacho to pass him off to Erin. Muchacho will be spending the winter with my sister and Shane in Fredericton. Hopefully, he will remember how to be knid to the gliders.
I want to change this blog template to reflect my new context next month. It is neat that Colombo is exactly 12 hours ahead of Victoria, so I am moving as far from this location as possible (well, I suppose I will still be in the Northern hemisphere).
As anyone who has hung out with me is aware, I am not the best planner and do not make lists. Getting all my shit in gear to move to the other side of the planet for at least half a year will be a challenge for me. I should start gathering my piles now.
