My Favourite Architect's Latest (and Last?) Creation is Officially Open!
The GREEN CITADEL MAGDEBURG, convenient in the heart of the city Madgeburg, was handed over to the public on 3 October 2005 solemnly.
With a surface area of 5000 m2 it completes a unique ensemble of buildings of different epochs and pulls with its individual life and experience areas the visitors into their spell. Instead of a closed residential complex an alive organism from 55 individually arranged dwellings as well as a hotel, a catering trade and an office developed among other things.
Check it out, you lucky Germans!

wow, that building looks like it's straight out of a Dr. Seuss book. I'd love to know what it's like on the inside.
Wow, but will we look back at it in 30 years, ok in a month, and think what an eye sore it needs pulling down, just as the UK has on most of the late 60s and 70s architecture?
Living in a place like that for me would be have a similar feel to that of a prison! At least in prison you don't have to take out a mortgage to stay there!
I'm amazed you found it though, really unusual, do you speak German at all?
